An Early Piece

I have collected quite a few early pieces. Some even with out marks. This one does have a mark but it is till one of my early pieces. The coloring is really light. I'm not sure if this is how it was produced or if it has faded from being exposed to the sunlight too much {from previous owners}.

My sought after Easter Seal

For years, I tried to collect all the Easter Seal edition figurines and this one was the hardest for me to find. When I finally found her at a price I was willing to pay, I actually ended up with 2 of her...Well the first one I bought didn't have a box, but I had been looking for so long that I bought her anyway. Well I happened be be on my Annual Antique trip with my Mom, so later that trip, I found another and this one had the box. Well I bought the second one thinking I could give the first one to my sister-in-law. Well it turned out that she had this one already. So I will probably end up trying to sell one on Ebay some time when I get around to it.

Best Deal for the Money

So years ago, my parents stopped somewhere on their way home from Florida and were able to buy about 10 different figurines for me. All of these were Members Only pieces and they paid either $20 or $25 each (I can't remember which). This one below is listed as being valued at $450.00 in the 4th edition of the Collectors Guide. Now personally I don't really believe I could actually get that much if I tried to sell it...but it must be hard to find if they value it at that price.

So this is my Collection

So I've decided to keep an online Album of my Precious Moments. I started collecting 1993 after my son was born. Currently I have 369 figurines, ornaments and plates. In addition to these I also have the entire Sugar Town collections (well, actually I don't have the Train set...so technically I guess I don't have the entire collection).

When I first starting collecting, I was really obsessed with buying figurines with the first production mark and the boxes. Well, I've gotten over that obsession. Yes, if I can get the first year mark or a box, I will, but if the price is right... Mostly I buy only on the secondary market right now. I can usually get figurines for under $20 and that allows me to get more for my buck.

So for post #1 the figurine below I purchased this one last year on my annual antique trip with my mom. I just could not resist this Precious figurine (yeah...pun intended)
